Payroll rules need effective dates and an official source. Contribution rates, insurable wage ceilings and pension benefits are different settings; changing one must not silently change the others.
As checked on 2 October 2026, NIB’s contributions page lists employed-person contributions of 4.65% employee and 6.65% employer. NIB’s July 2026 ceiling notice gives a weekly ceiling of B$830 and monthly ceiling of B$3,597 effective 1 July 2026. The notice says to retain B$810 for the workweek beginning 29 June and apply B$830 to workweeks starting on or after 6 July 2026. Confirm category, pay-period treatment and current rules with NIB and a payroll professional before using these values.
| Case | Insurable base | Employee / employer |
|---|---|---|
| B$900 eligible earnings; workweek starts 29 June 2026 | B$810 ceiling | B$37.67 / B$53.87 |
| B$900 eligible earnings; workweek starts 6 July 2026 | B$830 ceiling | B$38.60 / B$55.20 |
| B$500 eligible weekly earnings | B$500 | B$23.25 / B$33.25 |
The table rounds each illustrative contribution to cents. It excludes category exceptions and other payroll treatment. Do not derive a monthly ceiling by multiplying the weekly figure. Have a payroll professional review periods crossing the effective date and correction rules.
Version the approved configuration, compare employee-level totals with the remittance statement and retain the reason for corrections. A benefit increase must not be inferred from a contribution-rate field.
