Practical software guides

A customer seeing a success page does not prove the money is available in the merchant’s bank account. Keep the order, provider transaction, balance movement and bank payout as related but separate records.

Synthetic card-payment reconciliation; timing and fees are illustrative

Investigate the difference

If the order says paid but there is no provider capture, hold fulfilment and investigate. If capture exists but the payout has not arrived, consult that provider’s settlement and payout schedule. A refund, dispute or reserve can change the expected net amount. Do not overwrite the original transaction to hide the difference.

The Stripe balance report documentation is one provider-specific reference for matching balance transactions and payouts. Other rails and acquirers have different states and schedules. No local settlement timing is promised here.

Caynetic Shop has a public fictional demo using Stripe test mode. It demonstrates an interface, not real merchant settlement or acceptance by a Bahamian provider. Bring a redacted order, provider report and payout sample when scoping an integration.
