Practical software guides
A completed work order is not evidence of lower energy costs. Track the action, then measure consumption and tariff effects separately over a period appropriate to the equipment and billing cycle.
| Item | Example |
|---|---|
| Observation | Unexpected overnight consumption on meter M-2 |
| Investigation | Qualified technician reviews schedule and equipment |
| Action | Approved timer adjustment; revision and date retained |
| Measurement | kWh before/after over comparable operating periods |
| Context | Occupancy, weather, tariff and operating-hour changes |
If kWh falls but the tariff rises, the bill may not fall. If occupancy changes, a simple before/after comparison may misattribute the result. Define the baseline and normalization approach with the responsible energy specialist.
Use software to connect meter evidence to reviewed actions and unresolved faults. Do not let an app remotely change safety-critical settings without the required engineering authority. Existing maintenance or energy-management tools may already support this. No percentage saving, programme eligibility or fixed pilot outcome is promised.
