Practical software guides
Before adding a travel-trade portal, try the enquiry in the CRM and PMS you already use. The gap should be a demonstrated task, not a preference for another dashboard.
| Step | Data and verification |
|---|---|
| Request | Dates, party size and approved contact details |
| Quote | Offer version, currency, capacity and expiry |
| Review | Rate and blackout checks against current supplier facts |
| Booking | PMS reference returned and matched once |
| Follow-up | Approved notice; response status rather than assumed receipt |
Keep margin and internal supplier terms out of the advisor-facing view. If a PMS cannot expose availability safely, retain manual confirmation rather than displaying an invented live status.
Compare the options
- Configure: the CRM supports stages, templates and role permissions.
- Integrate: the gap is copying an approved quote or booking reference.
- Build: a specific partner-facing task or constraint remains after those tests.
Measure time from complete enquiry to approved quote, and quote-to-booking conversion over stated dates. Exclude incomplete requests or report them separately. This is a measurement plan; no conversion improvement is claimed.
